This piece was created with acrylics on a birch panel. After applying many layers of paint and sanding through them to reveal textures and patterns, shapes emerged as areas I was interested in and wanted to highlight. I built the narrative around them letting my imagination take the lead. I also added a few paper shapes for textural interest and applied paint on top. The surface is sealed with cold wax medium.
