The Forest Through The Trees

This piece is an exploration of what it feels like to be surrounded by the forest. Chaotic patterns of branches and light fade to abstract blurred images of shape and color. With little reference to distance or horizon, the trees stretch off all sides of the canvas. There is a sense of motion and sound within the stillness. I was inspired by the stark change in landscape moving from the vast West to rural New Hampshire.
